Welcome to Klamath Hospice

Kelly-Sue ThomasAllow me to introduce myself, my name is Kelly-Sue Thomas. I am thrilled to be a part of Klamath Hospice, Inc. as the new Volunteer/Fundraising Coordinator. I have some big shoes to fill, but thankfully I was able to spend a few weeks with Dana Pine, my predecessor, who showed me as much as she could before having to leave. As many of you know she and her husband are relocating to a small community in Texas! She was so much fun to work with and during those few short weeks I gleaned as much as I could from a true “Star” performer.

I was born and raised on a ranch in a little town called Fieldbrook, California. I spent most of my time, riding horses, gathering cattle and participating in the local fairs and rodeos. I graduated from Humboldt State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with a double emphasis in Marketing and Human Resource Management, in 1994. I moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon that same year and began working for Sky Lakes Medical Center a few months later. I stayed with Sky Lakes (then Merle West Medical Center) for 13 years. I treasure the experiences I had and feel honored to have worked with many great people and for such a great organization.

I am married to a wonderful man, Jerry, and we have two spectacular children Gavin and Trevor. My husband and I both agree that being parents is truly the most fantastic experience in our lives. We are blessed to have two extraordinary boys! And boy, do they keep us hopping! As a family, we enjoy spending time together, hunting, fishing, and caring for our many pets!!

I started at KHI on December 3, 2007 and the time has flown by!

I am surrounded by people that I truly admire because they really love what they do and work very, very hard. I am in a constant state of appreciation for all our Volunteers and their personal commitment of time to our Organization! I have had the privilege of meeting and/or speaking to many of our Volunteers, but there are still some that I have not met yet, but I will! I know we will have many opportunities to cross paths. There are lots of new ideas for the upcoming year and I am anxious to get started!
